I definitely remembered these from last year!

We had another picnic on the side of the road for the air show in Rome again this year! I always have a blast watching planes! There were a lot of the same planes that were in the show last year, so I wasn't quite as snap happy this time around. So I actually got to enjoy just watching a lot of it! And I didn't even bother to try filming it this year seeing as how difficult it was last year. 

And it wasn't quite as hot this year either! Though at the end of the show, it was getting a little toasty. But I didn't get sunburned, so that's a big positive.

It was a nice little substitution for our usual Sunday night dinner.

And now we have Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. This year went by so fast! Seems like things are going one speed lately, and its in warp drive! Hopefully I can get everything done between now and New Years. I need to start thinking about presents! 'Tis the season! But first, I'll watch Hocus Pocus one more time!

It's Fall, Y'all

It's fall! And we have finally started experiencing some of that crisp, cool, fall air I love so much! I love being able to sleep with my window open!

But I wasn't really prepared for it. I always check the weather on my phone, but my brain just couldn't compute what 45 degrees felt like because it had been so long. So when I walked out to my car in the morning, it was a little shocking. But in the best way possible!

So I threw together a little what I'm listening to these days, and will call it the fall playlist. Hah!

So Long, Summer!

We were in the migration path of monarch butterflies! There we TONS of them early in the week!

Apparently they follow the coast all the way to Mexico!

It was SO nice being beach front again!

There were THOUSANDS of jellyfish while we were there! There were a ton of them that got washed up on the beach a couple evenings. During the day, we didn't see hardly any, then at night they reappeared! Then when we went out one morning, we started spotting baby ones! So I went jellyfishing with a slotted spoon!!

Me: "We have to get some family pics." Connor: "Why?!" Me: "Because I had a meltdown in July and we didn't get any." I will fully admit when I have a moment, and I definitely had one during family pics in July.

So we went on vacation to my favorite place again! I haven't been to St. George Island in September in a long time! Probably 10 years! As much as I love going in July, it was so nice going in September!

It's not as hot and there aren't nearly as many people on the island! Not that there are that many at any given time, but there were noticeably less people this time around. And it was weird that the sun went down earlier! I mean, obviously, it gets dark sooner in the fall, but when I'm there, it's just getting dark at 9, so the sun going down sooner was different!

My mom and her best friend from high school are both turning 60 in the next month, so they decided we should take a trip to the beach to celebrate! I'd much rather have a beach vacation than a party any day!

But it was such a nice, relaxing week. We even went to the lighthouse! I'm perfectly content doing nothing but bumming around reading and getting a tan, but we thought we'd try something new!

The only other lighthouse I've ever climbed was on St. Simons Island, and that was in the 6h grade, so it's been a while. It was 92 steps and a sketchy ladder at the top, but we made it! And it was quite the workout. There is no air conditioning, in case you were wondering. But the view from up there was super cool!

Now back to real life. Now my next vacation isn't until July... Maybe I'll have to schedule something between now and then so I have something to look forward to!

This was a nice little so long to summer. Even though it's still 90 degrees here... Hopefully we will be getting some cooler, fall weather soon!

Also, curious. I can't decide if I like putting the text before or after the pictures... What do you think?!

20ish Things About Me

To be honest, August almost got skipped. I am literally sitting here right this moment not sure if I'm going to post anything. Even putting a playlist together seems like too much work. This whole having two jobs thing is no joke. I'm exhausted. I don't know how people do this and still manage to have any kind of social life because I'm dying. I am so ready for my vacation! I'm thankful all I had to wait was two months because I don't know if I could've made it much longer.

I'm still debating what to do for this blog post as I type this sentence. But I think I'm just going to do one of those "20ish Things About Me" because I haven't done one of those things since Myspace. And who remembers taking those stupid surveys?! Like anyone ever actually read them. Ha!

Anyways. I'm gonna try to do some random fun ones because who cares what my favorite color is or where I went to college? So here goes nothing.

20ish Things About Me

1. "Hands Down" by Dashboard Confessional was the first song I ever downloaded. Yes, I remember.
2. I hate bowling. I have no reason for it either. I used to love it when I was little. I even had a bowling party when I was in elementary school! I haven't been in so long, I may like it again 😂
3. My dream job is to be a travel videographer, but honestly, I'd do just about anything if I got paid to travel.
4. The first concert I ever went to was Gwen Stefani and the Black Eyed Peas. Oh, 8th grade.
5. My guilty pleasure is watching Teen Mom and the Challenges on MTV. I've got nothing to say for myself.
   
6. I still live with my parents. I'd like to move out but I'd also like to save some money.
7. When my photographs are blurry, I feel like hugging a cactus. It physically pains me.
8. The majority of my closet is black, white, gray, or cream colored. But I still wear a lot of colors, so I'm not really sure where they come from.
9. I have a scar on my forehead from where I fell and hit my head of the board of the couch when I was little.
10. I'm kind of a grammar nazi, but I still have a lot of questions. Who or whom?
11. I don't have a whole lot of pictures of myself. I'm usually the one behind the camera. And I have yet to master the art of the self portrait. I should try some again sometime soon though.
12. Instagram is my favorite social media platform.
13. I'm not great at speaking my mind. I'm trying to work on it but it just seems so confrontational. And I hate confrontation!
14. If I can't find it on Google, I'm in trouble.
15. I kind of hate weddings.
16. I overthink just about everything.
17. Some days I feel super old, and other days I feel like I have my entire life ahead of me and plenty of time to do everything I want to do.
18. I'm a better listener than I am a talker.
19. I'm an incredibly picky eater.
20. I've never broken a bone.
21. I really don't like wearing high heels. A. They hurt, and B. I can't really walk in them because I never wear them.
22. I haven't been "bored" since I was 12 years old. Who has time for that?
23. I like to travel, but I haven't been many places. I want to get a map of the world and put pins in the places I've been, but not yet because at this point it would look pretty sad.
24. Meeting new people makes me nervous.
25. I don't really like birthdays. It's supposed to be "your day," but I always seem to be let down. My last birthday was pretty awesome though so maybe things are looking up.
