Beachy Keen

SGI 2018 is in the books! I had the best time, as always. The weather was beautiful the entire time! I think it rained one evening and once at night and that was it!

It felt a little weird because we didn't book our house for next year. We decided to go every even year. It'll be weird next year! That's for sure!

But it was so nice to be with everyone for the week! We made some great memories!

The mosquitos were TERRIBLE this year! I took Ella, Alex, and Eddie out to the pool the first night we were there, and we all got eaten alive! At one point Ella started counting all the bites that were popping up on my back, "One, two, three, four, five, six, seven..." and I just told her to stop because I didn't want to know! They sent someone out to spray for something and Bonnie was outside and she asked if they could do something about the mosquitos, so they sprayed for them too! After that, it wasn't bad, but those first few days, they swarmed!

Last year, my mom and I saw this pile of fake dog poop at 5 Below, and we talked about buying it and putting it in Michael and Bonnie's room. On their bed or something, but we thought eh nah. This year, when we went to 5 Below for some pool noodles, we decided to do it! So we got one, but we thought it would be better to put it in a corner or something to make them think it was real.

So we gave it to my dad to put in their room before they got there. It took them a couple days to actually find it! I believe Michael said to Bonnie: "I think somebody shit in our room!" 😂 So after that, we "hid" it a few other places, and then it was everywhere! The first time we moved it, we put it on the stairs, and Eddie was going upstairs and stopped when he saw it, pointed and said, "Eeeeeewwwwww!"

After that, it was there every time I turned around. On the counter, on the table, on the couch, inside, outside, in a pair of Alex's underwear he left on the floor. You name it! Who knew a fake pile of poop could be so much fun?! (the link isn't the exact one we have but close)

Picture night was AWESOME! I decided well in advance that I was not going to do the group picture at the beach. When I walked outside that evening to set it up, it was SO humid and there was zero breeze, so I went back inside and we moved some furniture around to take the picture inside. Best decision I've ever made. I love natural light, but this was soooo much easier.

We took our group picture, chilled inside until it was golden hour, and went outside for the rest! The only pictures we kind of lost light for were for all the girls and all the guys, but everything else turned out really well! Which was very exciting since I had a meltdown last year.

So I posted a bunch!

Please note the pile of poop on the couch. Ha! Only fitting it made it into the family photo!

Garbage trucks are cool but stinky!

Pointing out the "crab house"

Oh look! There it is again!!

Nap time ❤️

These dinosaur heads were also a big source of entertainment. My favorite was when Eddie put one on. It was half his body and his little "rawr!" was so cute!!!

Twins!

See! How cute is this?!

This puzzle was a bit difficult...

Ella asked if she could borrow my sunglasses for pictures (I have a rose gold pair exactly like this), so Alex got upset because he wanted them. Lucky for him I had another pair!

Eddie looks so irritated!

Idk

Explaining that there's a thing inside the super cool shell he found and that if we don't get it out, it will start to smell. So don't forget that it's in your pocket!

This was where we lost the light.

Oh yeah it's gone.

Which do you like better? This one?!

Or this one?!

Me: "Smile!"
Alex: "Cheese!!"
Me: *click* "Ok get down."

My mom wanted to take some pictures since there are never any of me...

So I don't know why I got him two 5 balloons, maybe because one was gold and one was silver? I don't know, but I'm glad I did because of course Eddie wanted one!

Alex said: "I need the gold one because I'm the golden goose!" Yes you are, silly goose!

So I had an old digital camera that I don't use any more and I brought it with to put in the living room for people to use if they wanted. I showed Alex how to use it and he was SO pumped! He ran around and took a bunch of pictures... for about an hour. He brought it to me and asked me to fix it because the pictures were all purple... No idea what happened to it, but it is no more! Ha! He had a good time for a little while anyways.

Birthday boy! I don't know how he is 5. It doesn't seem possible! But I'm glad we were able to celebrate with him!!

XOXO, Ness
