Corn fields for days. |
This lightning was crazy! It was so cool to watch! |
I just love this little dude! Even if he is sleepy and teething. He was still in a good mood! |
Bird's eye view of Atlanta! |
I love vacation. Who doesn't, right? My only complaint was that it went by wayyyy too fast.
I haven't been on an airplane in 4 years, so that was exciting enough! I kind of love flying. Maybe not the actual flight part, that can be kind of boring and you never know what kind of annoying weirdos could be on your flight. But I love looking out the windows. It's also nice to get a little break from the world. Because there's no way I'm paying $12 or whatever it was for wifi.
But I like just sitting in the airport. I love watching planes land and take off. I could do that all day. Our gate in Atlanta was right by the runways and we got a window seat, so I really enjoyed that! We had a window seat in Minneapolis too, but since we were at the little airport, there wasn't much to watch. Ha!
I really liked Southwest though! I had heard good things, but the no assigned seat thing made me a little nervous. But the fact that two bags fly free and they still give peanuts on the plane made my mind up. I didn't know airlines still gave out peanuts! So many people are allergic to them these days. The last time I flew I got pretzels. Lame.
Not trying to be cliché, but the weather was SO NICE in Minnesota and Wisconsin! When we stepped outside with our bags, it felt like the two weeks of nice weather we have here. The rest of the week was a little chilly, but it was still so nice! I prefer cold to hot unless I'm at the beach.
Before we landed in Atlanta, the pilot came on and said, "Welcome to Atlanta. It's about 90 degrees..." and I almost cried. And let me tell you, the second I stepped off the plane, I felt it.
But I was glad we got to get away for a little while. It's nice to have a reminder that life can be fun. Because it really hasn't been fun at all lately. So I want to try to take more vacations. Not necessarily real vacations, because that would be expensive. But a few little mini vacations or staycations could work wonders for this "real life" "adult" thing.
My favorite part of any vacation is getting to see my family. And I saw them twice in the same year?! What?! Am I dreaming?? It really sucks living so far away from them. This trip has me revisiting the possibility of moving up there at some point. Someday maybe...
But for now, I'm still here, chugging along.
XOXO, Ness
