Celebrate!

Two occasions on this post!

We celebrated Connor's birthday the Sunday before Mother's Day. He's 23! We're getting old...

Then we celebrated Mother's Day the same way we celebrate most things around here these days. We kept it low-key and got Chinese food so we could avoid the crowds, did presents and just hung around.

I took some video, but I think I'm going to try something a little different... I'm going to try a vlog type video. I'm unsure how it'll go and I may change my mind, but we'll see! Most of my footage isn't vlogish, so I'm open to suggestions. I might see if there's anything else I'd rather do with it, but at this point it's mostly for me. A digital scrapbook kind of thing. Something anyways!

I'll be working on it!

He asked for a laundry hamper, so we put all his other gifts at the bottom and filled it with tissue paper. It was A LOT of tissue paper! Haha.

Spring!

Well. We had a good run. So you may have noticed (or probably not) that I missed February and March. Yep. I did. I was going to throw something together just so I could keep my steak going. I made it over two years without missing a month! Pretty proud, but I didn't want to post something just to post it. So I didn't. I've done that lots of times, and I just didn't feel like it this time around.

I have been busy though! My grandpa turned 81, one of my best friends got married, work, gearing up for Mother's Day and my brother's birthday, my aunt and uncle visited for a few days, my dad got my car stuck in the mud.

I'm gonna try to get back to it, but sometimes I just don't feel like it! And I don't always document like I want to, so it makes it hard to post about it. I need to do more things and actually take photos and videos, I guess 😂

But I am so excited that spring has finally sprung! Even if it is an unusually chilly spring so far!

81 years young!!

Me, the bride, and the maid of honor! I've known Carley (bride) and Krystal (maid of honor) since the 8th grade!

We went out to eat when my aunt and uncle stopped at our house for a few days. Always fun to see family!

26. Yikes.

First post of 2018! It's almost the end of January, so it's a little late, but still counts! I was going to do some kind of resolutions post, but nah. That obviously didn't happen. Maybe I will do another spring resolutions thing. That seemed to go better than new year's resolutions. We'll see. Anyways!

I have said it before, and I will probably say it again: I am not a fan of birthdays. My birthdays, that is. Other people's birthdays are fine. Ha!

And it's not getting the older part of it, though I will admit that that is a lot less fun than it used to be. 

There's just so much pressure for you to have a good day because it's YOUR day! And sometimes you just don't have a good day on your birthday. Life is crazy.

But this was a good one. I took a few days off from work, and thanks to the snow, it turned into a 5 day weekend. You can't go wrong with that!

I hung out with my family on Saturday. We went out for lunch then went to the movies and saw 12 Strong. It was really good! I'm usually not a huge fan of war movies because 99% of the time, they are so sad! But this one wasn't bad at all in terms of everyone dying. So I would highly recommend it!

Sunday was a nice lazy day. I met some friends for lunch, then I went home and watched/was disappointed seeing who would be going to the Super Bowl this year. Go Philly, I guess.

But that was pretty much it! Another year older. So. 26. As a friend reminded me, I am now closer to 30 than 20. Yikes.

I told my mom I think next year maybe we should just do the number candles. She said she didn't want to do that because it seemed so old! There was wax all over the cake by the time we got them all lit and "Happy Birthday" was sung. Oopes.

Raspberry White Chocolate Mousse Cake

Most birthdays, I get an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen. I mean, I love ice cream and those things are delicious. But this year I decided I wanted to be fancy. So I got a cake from Alpine Bakery! Their cakes aren't cheap, but the one I wanted turned out to be the cake of the month so we got $10 off! It's the little things.

We are working on being better about taking more pictures.

Merry Christmas to All!

So I told you that we had taken pictures in matching pajamas, remember. I wasn't kidding!

If I'm being honest, we looked like Christmasy jailbirds. Or elves. Or Where's Waldo? It goes on and on. Can you think of anything I missed??

So originally, we had ordered our pjs from PatPat. DO NOT DO IT. My mom saw an ad on Facebook, and since we hadn't had much (or any, really) luck finding anything, so we thought we'd give it a try...

Yikes. I think we ordered them in the beginning of October, and they came in mid-November, which is the first red flag because usually stuff that takes that long to get to you is coming from China. And I speak from experience when I say ordering anything from China is a gamble. I once ordered a cookie cutter in the shape of a dress and wound up with six dinosaur cookie cutters.

Anyways, we got them, and the ones that did have sizes on them were NOT said size. Then there were two or three pairs that just didn't have any identification as to the size whatsoever, but they were all about the same size. We ordered from a women's medium to a men's xxl and they were all more or less the same.

So we tried a backup plan and ordered them from Target, and those are the ones you see! Overall, would absolutely not recommend PatPat, though they did give us a full refund and said we could "either keep it or donate it as a gift to someone else." They also offered a 15% discount on my next order. RIGHT.

Long story short, do not order from PatPat!
